Job Description:

The Medical Doctor (MD) is responsible for the overall management of the Basic health center, The Medical Doctor (MD) is responsible for delivering high-quality clinical care and medical treatment to patients at the health facility level. This includes diagnosing illnesses, prescribing appropriate medications, managing both acute and chronic conditions, and ensuring that all medical interventions align with national treatment protocols and guidelines. The MD also plays a key leadership role by supervising and mentoring health staff and outreach team, enhancing their clinical skills through on-the-job training and capacity-building sessions. Furthermore, the MD actively contributes to the planning, coordination, and implementation of health and nutrition activities both at the health facility level and outreach teams , working closely with other team members to improve service delivery, patient outcomes, and community health. He is also responsible for the stock management, maintenance of health facility, environmental health and supervisor the infection prevention and waste management. he/she can work as back up while a MD of a clinic is going for long leave.

Job Requirements:

Education:

 

• Graduated from a registered and recognized medical faculty/Institute, and has passed the exit exam.

 

Work Experience:

• The Candidate must have at least three-years’ relevant work experience in BPHS related health facilities or similar working context/environment.

Languages Skills:

• Fluency in spoken and written Dari and Pashtu is a requirement. English Language skills is a plus point.

 

Skills :

 Excellent skills of problem-solving and decision making

 Strong communication skills

 Patient counselling and advice

 Willingness to work in COVID-19 situation but will be having PPE and IPC measurements provided.

 Good teamwork spirit

 Willingness to learn new skills.

 Experience of ministry of public health/HMIS reporting system/formats.

 

The holder of this position is responsible for the overall management of the health facility and the provision of quality treatment and care to patients, ensuring effective service delivery in line with established standards and protocols.
